Two U19 talents officially step up to the V-League stage

SLNA has decided to promote Nguyễn Tấn Minh and Hoàng Minh Hợi from the U19 squad to the senior team to reinforce the backline before the 14th round of the 2025/2026 V-League season.

Following an impressive 4-1 victory over Thể Công Viettel in round 13, SLNA continues to make notable moves regarding their squad. The Nghệ An club has chosen to add two young players from the U19 team to the first team, including fullback Nguyễn Tấn Minh and center-back Hoàng Minh Hợi, in preparation for the second half of the 2025/2026 V-League.

This is considered a strategic step as SLNA faces several defensive challenges. The match against Hà Tĩnh in round 14 is not only important for points but also serves as a test for the squad depth under the coaching staff.

The main reason behind this decision is the severe loss of personnel. Hồ Văn Cường suffered a torn cruciate ligament injury and must be sidelined long-term, while Mai Hoàng is still unable to return due to ankle pain. Other defensive positions have yet to reach consistent form, forcing SLNA to find timely reinforcement solutions.

Among the two promoted players, Hoàng Minh Hợi has made a particularly strong impression. At the 2026 National U19 Finals, the 2007-born center-back scored 4 goals and earned the top scorer title — a rare feat for a defensive player. Standing over 1.80m tall, with good game-reading ability and a composed playing style, Minh Hợi is expected to add more solidity to the defense system.

On the flank, Nguyễn Tấn Minh brings youthful energy and enthusiasm. This player stands out with relentless wing runs, precise crosses, and challenging long throw-ins. He could become a key option to create breakthroughs during SLNA’s set pieces.

According to the schedule, the match between SLNA and Hà Tĩnh in round 14 of the 2025/2026 V-League will take place at 6:00 PM on February 28. Giving opportunities to young talents not only helps SLNA address immediate personnel issues but also opens a long-term development path, building a sustainable succession foundation for the Nghệ An club.
