First Half Analysis: Favorable Start, Challenges Concentrated in Late October

Barcelona has a relatively favorable opening schedule, with Elche, Rayo Vallecano, Levante, and Racing Santander all being opponents from which a title contender is expected to take maximum points. Athletic Bilbao, Valencia, and especially the away trip to Sevilla will be more notable tests in the early phase.

The toughest stretch comes from Round 9 to Round 12. Barca must face Real Betis before entering El Clasico against Real Madrid in Round 10 on October 25, then travel to Atletico Madrid in Round 12. This also coincides with the Champions League entering a dense fixture period, making squad rotation and maintaining fitness a key issue.

At the end of the first half, Villarreal, Real Sociedad, and the Catalan derby at Espanyol stand out as challenges. However, if they build a sufficient advantage early on, Barcelona will have more room to allocate energy for cup competitions.

Second Half Analysis: Dense Fixtures Could Create Turning Points

Compared to the first half, the second half of the season is predicted to be more unpredictable because Barcelona may have to split their efforts across multiple competitions. From Round 22 to Round 26, the Catalan club will face Valencia, Atletico Madrid, Villarreal, Levante, and Athletic Bilbao in succession. This is also a period when the Champions League and Copa del Rey could significantly increase the match density.

The pressure becomes even greater if Barca progresses deep into the Champions League. April and early May are when crucial knockout rounds of the European competition take place, while the La Liga title race also enters its decisive phase. At that point, matches that seem easy against Racing Santander, Espanyol, Celta Vigo, or Osasuna could become difficult if the squad's fitness is worn down.

The biggest highlight is the second-leg El Clasico at Real Madrid's stadium on May 9, Round 35. If the two teams are still directly competing for the title, this away trip could very well become the season-defining match. Immediately after, Barca must travel to Real Sociedad, before closing out La Liga with two matches against Malaga and Getafe.

Perhaps the big clash in Round 35 will be the decisive battle for the La Liga crown in the 2026/2027 season.
