Hoang Duc speaks about Quang Hai's influence: 'He is very important to the Vietnam national team'

Quang Hai only needs one moment to make a difference. In Vietnam's victory, this midfielder continued to show his value with a pass that confused the opponent's defense and led to an own goal, helping the team double the lead at a crucial time.

In the 86th minute, from a Vietnam attack, Quang Hai put the ball into a dangerous area. Faris Danish, in an attempt to intercept the pass, inadvertently knocked the ball into his own net, giving Vietnam a 2-0 lead.

Although the goal was not credited to Quang Hai, Hoang Duc believes his teammate's imprint was very clear.

Hoang Duc shared: "For me, whenever Quang Hai appears on the field, he is always something very important to the team. Today Quang Hai made a pass that led to an own goal. That goal was largely due to his contribution. Quang Hai is always the captain, always motivating the spirits of the team both on and off the field."

Hoang Duc's assessment partly shows the special role of Quang Hai in the Vietnam team. Not only contributing with game-changing plays, this midfielder is also considered one of the players with great influence on the spirit and operation of the whole team.

Before Vietnam's second goal, there was a moment that made fans worried when Patrik Le Giang was shown a red card by the referee. However, Hoang Duc said he was not too panicked because he had observed the situation quite clearly from a distance.

"I could see from a distance that Van Vi touched the ball first, it then hit Sumareh before touching Patrik. The referee gave Patrik a red card, but after he checked VAR and changed the decision, the whole team was very happy," Hoang Duc said.

After consulting VAR, the referee changed his decision, allowing Vietnam to continue playing with 11 men and Patrik Le Giang remained in goal.

Earlier, Nguyen Xuan Son opened the scoring in the 45+5th minute with a powerful header from a cross by Truong Tien Anh. Later, Quang Hai's imprint contributed to the second goal, helping coach Kim Sang Sik's team consolidate their advantage and get closer to victory.
