Playing at Singapore's Jalan Besar Stadium on the evening of August 15, Thailand scored three goals thanks to a brace from Teerasak Poeiphimai and a strike from Seksan Ratree. Singapore managed a consolation goal through Ilhan Fandi late in the match.

After the match, Seksan Ratree, who was named Man of the Match, acknowledged that Thailand still had some errors and needed to correct them before the return leg. "Singapore is a quality team; they will surely make adjustments. Thailand also needs to improve its gameplay for the rematch," Seksan Ratree shared.

Head coach Anthony Hudson also believed that Thailand had not yet controlled the game as desired when in possession. He noted that all three of Thailand's goals came from counter-attacking situations and that he had adjusted the playing system to reduce the risk of conceding further goals. The English manager stated that Singapore is a very difficult team to play against, with a well-organized system and the ability to put pressure. Coach Hudson emphasized that Thailand could not be complacent despite leading 3-1 and needed to prepare thoroughly for the return leg in Bangkok. He said the team would focus on recovery and addressing the shortcomings from the first leg.

With a 3-1 away victory, Thailand holds the advantage heading into the second leg of the semifinal on August 18.
