The Red Devils conclude their preseason with a friendly against AC Milan in Poland on Saturday at 10:45 PM. According to the official 26-player list, Rashford, Mainoo, and Martinez, who were the last to return from World Cup duty, are included. Meanwhile, €85m forward Sesko remains unavailable and may be absent for the start of the Premier League season.

Rashford's appearance against Milan will mark his first Manchester United match in 20 months. His last outing in a United shirt was in the Europa League in December 2024, after which he was dropped. The man who decided to exile him from the dressing room is now Milan's manager, Ruben Amorim. Amorim has publicly questioned Rashford's professionalism, stating he would rather use a nearly 70-year-old goalkeeper coach than pick him.

Now, Rashford has the opportunity to "silence" Amorim on the pitch, and this will be his only chance to face the coach in the coming year, as Milan have not qualified for the new Champions League. Sharing a similar feeling is 21-year-old English midfielder Mainoo, who had zero Premier League starts in the first half of last season under Amorim's management.

Mainoo was part of England's World Cup squad but did not play a single minute. He even missed the third-place match due to a back injury, making him the only outfield England international not to feature in the tournament. At the time, British media reported that he was also dropped by Tuchel for poor attitude. Carrick denied this and encouraged the youngster with his own experience in 2010, when he was benched under Capello.

Martinez was forced off in the first half of the World Cup final with a thigh strain, but fortunately it was not serious, and he has now resumed training. After a week of training in Ireland, the 28-year-old Argentine center-back is fit to return. He will compete with Eden Hayden and Leny Yoro for the starting center-back partner alongside Maguire, as the pair were the starters in Carrick's first few matches.

In midfield, Mason Mount, who was injured against Atletico Madrid, remains sidelined. This means Mainoo and new signings Youri Tielemans and Andre Santos will battle for the two starting spots in the first Premier League away game at Hull City. Youngsters Tyler Fletcher and Toby Collyer are expected to be bench options.

Up front, 23-year-old Slovenian striker Sesko, who has not played any pre-season friendlies this summer, missed the "last chance" of the preseason. Lacking match sharpness, he is unlikely to feature in the Premier League opener. It is expected that Mbeumo will play as a makeshift center-forward, while Cunha, Rashford, Patrick Dorgu, and Amad Diallo compete for the starting wing positions.

15-year-old "Little Messi" Gabriel (JJ Gabriel) has been included in the friendly squad again, but his senior teammate Shea Lacey is more likely to make the matchday squad for Premier League games. For the match against Milan, United are expected to wear the newly unveiled beige third away kit.

The traveling United players flew to Wroclaw, Poland on Friday afternoon, while injured players such as Sesko, Mount, De Ligt, Carl Darlow, and Tom Heaton returned to Carrington to continue their rehabilitation, aiming to be fit before the season begins.

Manchester United's 26-man squad for the match against Milan: Sena Lammers, Dermot Mee, Fred Heath; Diogo Dalot, Mazraoui, Maguire, Hayden, Yoro, Martinez, Luke Shaw, Amass; Tielemans, Santos, Mainoo, Jack and Tyler Fletcher, Collyer, Bruno Fernandes; Lacey, Mbeumo, Zirkzee, Amad, Rashford, Cunha, Dorgu, Gabriel.
