Bayern Munich could soon receive a massive 250 million euros from a non-pitch deal, significantly expanding their ability to pull off transfer blockbusters in the future.

According to Sport Bild, Bayern Munich is nearing an agreement to sell 5% of Bayern München AG shares to the Viessmann group for around 250 million euros. AG stands for Aktiengesellschaft, meaning the stock corporation responsible for most of Bayern's professional football operations and business activities.

Even with an external investor, Bayern retains absolute control over the club's operating company, as the club's member organization still holds 70% of the shares.

Bayern Munich is about to receive a massive financial boost

According to Sport Bild, the Bavarian giants have no plans to immediately pour all the money into the transfer market. A portion of the resources is expected to be allocated to long-term projects such as renovating the Säbener Straße headquarters, upgrading the Sportpark Unterhaching for the women's team, and continuing investment in the club's academy.

But the impact on the first team remains significant. The new funds give Bayern Munich an enormous financial cushion and greatly increase their ability to maneuver if a superstar appears on the market. Sport Bild even suggests that with this additional resource, the German club could more easily handle a deal worth 150 million euros in the future.

In other words, Bayern Munich may not be ready to buy a 'new Harry Kane' this summer, but deals of a similar scale—or even larger than the English striker—have become much more feasible.

This can also be seen as a strong message sent to coach Vincent Kompany and the stars the German giants want to retain long-term: the club is not only aiming to dominate the Bundesliga but also wants to maintain its competitive status in the Champions League.

The deal also highlights the astonishing rise in Bayern Munich's valuation. If 5% of the shares are truly worth 250 million euros, the entire Bayern München AG would be valued at around 5 billion euros. For comparison, in 2014 Allianz paid 110 million euros for 8.33% of Bayern, corresponding to a valuation of about 1.32 billion euros at that time. Allianz confirmed the 110 million euro figure for 8.33% in the 2014 deal.

Viessmann is also not an unfamiliar name. The German group has been cooperating with Bayern for years, and Max Viessmann currently sits on the club's Advisory Board. If the deal goes through, Viessmann will become the fourth strategic shareholder alongside Adidas, Audi, and Allianz.
