Official: Vietnam's largest stadium in the world continues to be renamed.

The Vingroup stadium, the biggest in the world with 135,000 seats, has been officially designated as VinFast - Trống Đồng.

The stadium, previously known as Trống Đồng or Lạc Việt, has officially adopted the name VinFast - Trống Đồng. With a capacity of up to 135,000 seats and an automatic retractable roof system, the facility is envisioned to become one of the world's leading stadiums in scale.

On August 14, 2026, Vingroup announced the plan for the Hùng Vương International Sports Complex, located in the Hanoi International Sports Urban Area. The most prominent highlight of the project is the VinFast - Trống Đồng stadium, a facility expected to become a new icon of Vietnamese sports in the future.

According to the plan, the entire Hùng Vương International Sports Complex covers over 400 hectares, developed as a large-scale sports, cultural, and entertainment hub. The project aims to meet the needs of hosting top-tier sports tournaments while also serving as a venue for large-scale cultural, artistic programs, and international events.

The complex is situated in the southern part of Hanoi and features a diverse sports ecosystem. The facilities are planned according to professional standards, aiming to meet the requirements of major global sports events like the Olympics or FIFA World Cup. Through this, the project is expected to contribute to enhancing Vietnam's capacity to organize international events.

The heart of the complex is the VinFast - Trống Đồng stadium, covering approximately 73.3 hectares with an expected capacity of 135,000 spectators. According to published information, it will be the largest-capacity stadium in the world, also featuring an exceptionally large automatic retractable roof system. The facility is designed to FIFA standards and incorporates artificial intelligence, aiming for green, modern, and sustainable technology.

VinFast - Trống Đồng is scheduled for completion in July 2027. The stadium's architecture is inspired by the image of the Lac bird and Dong Son bronze drums, creating a connection between traditional cultural values and modern architectural style. In addition to the automatic roof system, the stadium also includes a high-standard VVIP area serving heads of state, international delegations, and special events. Once operational, the facility is expected to become a venue for world-class tournaments, cultural programs, and art events.
