HAGL beat a Thai team 2-1 in their first friendly match.

HAGL claimed a 2-1 victory over Suphanburi in the first friendly match of their training camp in Thailand.

HAGL had a favorable start to their training camp in Thailand. after defeating Suphanburi 2-1 in the first friendly. The win gave the Mountain City team more confidence ahead of a series of tough matches against Thai clubs.

On the afternoon of August 12, HAGL entered a friendly with Suphanburi, a team playing in Thai League 3. Coach Le Quang Trai used many notable players in the starting lineup, while also giving new recruits a chance to showcase their abilities before finalizing the squad for the 2026/27 season.

With a slightly superior squad, HAGL quickly controlled the game and created many dangerous chances. The Mountain City team maintained pressure on Suphanburi's goal and scored two goals, thus ending the match with a 2-1 victory. Vo Dinh Lam and newcomer Ha Chau Phi were the scorers for the V.League representative.

Notably, Ha Chau Phi's goal brought a positive signal for HAGL. This player recently joined the club on loan from Ninh Binh and has an opportunity to impress the coaching staff. In this training camp, Coach Le Quang Trai brought about 40 players to continue evaluating personnel and find the right squad framework for the new season.

The victory over Suphanburi was just the warm-up for HAGL's journey in the Land of Golden Pagodas. The Mountain City team is scheduled to play a total of five friendlies against Suphanburi, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Uthai Thani, and Pattani. Among these, the match against Kanchanaburi, coached by Park Hang Seo on August 14, is considered the most notable test.

HAGL arrived in Thailand on August 11. and are expected to return to Vietnam on August 22. With a packed schedule, the Mountain City team will have the opportunity to test their lineup, try out new recruits, and refine their playing style before the 2026/27 season. After the first victory, Coach Le Quang Trai and his players are enjoying a promising start on Thai soil.
