Receiving too many red cards, Chelsea manager makes a blunt statement to his players.

Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior delivered a stern warning to his squad following the team's latest red card in the previous round.

The English strategist bluntly declared he would "cut" any player who fails to maintain discipline, as The Blues are becoming the worst-behaved team in the Premier League this season.

In the 1-2 defeat to Arsenal last weekend, Pedro Neto was sent off in the second half, marking Chelsea's 9th red card across all competitions since the start of the season. This number is more than double that of any other Premier League club. Previously, players like Marc Cucurella, Joao Pedro, Moises Caicedo, and Wesley Fofana have also been sent off early, and former manager Enzo Maresca even received a red card while still in charge.

Speaking at the press conference ahead of the match against Aston Villa, Rosenior did not hide his disappointment: "That has to improve. I want to build a culture of accountability. If you make a mistake, you must own up to it and ensure it doesn't happen again." According to him, Neto's public apology to the team is a positive step, but it is not enough.

Notably, Rosenior revealed he was forced to substitute both Cole Palmer and Enzo Fernandez during the Arsenal match out of concern they might receive a second red card. This highlights the alarming level of disciplinary issues at Stamford Bridge. "I cannot afford to lose a player every two or three matches due to red cards. That is unacceptable," he emphasized.

Chelsea currently sit at the bottom of the Premier League's fair-play table, repeating a negative trend from the last two seasons. With 10 matches remaining to compete for a top-5 spot—which means a Champions League berth for next season—constantly playing with fewer men is becoming self-sabotage. According to internal statistics shared by Rosenior, Chelsea's win rate significantly increases when they maintain a full squad of 11 players on the pitch.

The message from the 39-year-old manager is clear: there is no room for indiscipline. He is prepared to adjust the lineup and remove individuals who cannot control their emotions, regardless of whether they are star players or key figures. In this high-pressure final stretch, if attitudes do not change quickly, Chelsea could pay a heavy price for their own recklessness.
